i'm ready to suffer and i'm ready to hope
it's a shot in the dark aimed right at my throat
Those vibrant green eyes widened with the fear of the unknown when her angelic lips formed the words that he thought he wouldn't have to face till much later. But what was the point of making life easier? The world seemed to be at war, not just The Kingdoms. Not only would it be a war between the Kingdoms anymore, but the recovering Outlaw sensed a civil war was to come. That between The sister and brother of Faylinn. The knife Tyler had been holding slipped from his grasp and hit the cobble floor of Valterra's chamber with a loud clang. For what seemed like hours Tyler just stared at her in disbelief. They were not married, and he knew this. They had been intimate out of wedlock, he had known this too. He did not regret anything, but the thought of Mercy being with child before they were wedded was something he was regretting at the moment. With his jaw hanging slightly, he scrambled to find the words to comfort the already distressed Princess of Faylinn. He stuttered, and then looked at his hands as if he'd hurt her somehow. He felt like a fool, worse than he did when he was by himself, living out his life stealing, cheating and robbing others. He would have to stand up against King John and tell him how he robbed his sister of her virginity before she was married. How he was the father of her child that was now growing inside her.. all before wedlock. He would be hung.
The young man finally looked up to the beautiful woman in front of him, even in her state of panic she was the most delicate and perfect thing he had ever come in contact with. With a shaking voice he choked out the words, "I.. didn't think..." He didn't even bother to finish his sentence. He didn't think, that was exactly it. Not that he didn't think this would happen, because it would eventually. That was the nature of life. He blinked several times after looking away from her, she was not to see him this weak. Tyler was suppose to be her anchor. But he couldn't help think of what was to come. They couldn't hide this forever. Months had gone by where they believed John was dead, and the world hadn't seemed as peaceful as it did when he finally turned up. But now... now in an almost selfish way Tyler wished the man was still missing. John would be the only one who could stand a chance at pulling Mercy away from the bandit. It scared Tyler to death.
For a moment longer he watched her tremble, on the verge of tears before he finally stepped forward and clutched her, bringing her into a strong hug. His arms engulfed her, crossing at her back and he held her head against his chest, his own breath faltering for a second when he felt her convulse into sobs. He held her tighter, squeezing his eyes closed and burying his face into her sweet smelling curls. He rocked her back and forth slightly, trying to calm her... but he knew his own body was trembling with the fear of what was to come...
"I will tell him." Tyler's voice almost echoed in the room with the silence that had been held before. They slowly wound up curling up together on the huge chamber bed. Entangled with one another, Tyler finally spoke up after Mercy had calmed. Tyler's mind hadn't stopped racing, he didn't know what to do.. but he knew whatever they were planning needed to be done fast. He sat up slightly leaning over to look at her face. "If we wait on this, it will only make it worse. Your brother does not like when things are kept from him. Better to come out with it now. Maybe he will not be so harsh if we come clean sooner rather than later." He spoke with more confidence than he had ever since she'd told him she was pregnant. Either way this subject would not be easy, and he did not want Mercy to face the anger of her brother. He just hoped in his rage John would not kill him.

[style=background-image: url('http://i751.photobucket.com/albums/xx160/mercyscar7/Mercy/mercy3-1.jpg'); width: 400px; height: 270px;] The moment she told him, it was like a huge weight being lifted off of her shoulders. Though she didn't quite regret anything, she couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of fear. Similar thoughts were flowing through her own mind and she knew one thing for sure.... John was going to murder Tyler. For a moment, when he didn't respond, she felt the tears stinging her stormy eyes as she fought to keep her eyes on him. Throat tightening, she wasn't sure if she could say another word.
The moment he pulled her toward him, she threw her arms around him and sobbed against his chest, confused by her ow emotions. It was overwhelming to say the least, but his strong embrace helped to hold her together. She couldn't quite decide if his own trembling eased her own fears or not, but it helped her to know that she wasn't alone in this. She trusted Tyler; she loved him. John, however, did not. She was sure that the only reason John put up with Tyler being around was because of John's own guilt. In John's mind, Tyler had succeeded where he had failed... Tyler had kept Mercy safe when John could not.
As her sobs subsided and she found herself curling against him upon her bed, Mercy remained silent for what seemed like forever, her mind churning with thought after thought. She wasn't ready to come clean with John; she wasn't ready to be a mother. It wasn't that she didn't want the baby, she was just terrified of failing as a mother.
When he spoke, she nodded her head, knowing that he was right. As much as she didn't want him to approach John alone, she knew that it was the right thing for him to do. Even if John might try to slaughter him, he would see it as the many thing to do, if not at first, then in the long run. Taking a deep breath of air, the young woman pressed her lips against his chest. No other soul knew about her condition. At first, she hadn't been too sure, but after two months of being late... there was no denying it.
Her heart had been racing all day long as she tried to get Tyler alone, even though a part of her didn't mind the delay. She had been so scared of how he might react, as foolish as that had been. The more she calmed though, she couldn't help but wonder what it was going to be like. "Tyler..." she said ever so softly, blinking away a few stray tears. "I.... I want to get married." Her face flushed in embarrassment and she looked away, biting her lower lip nervously. "I don't want to bring a child into this world, out of wedlock." The more she thought about their predicament, the more she realized that she wanted to have his baby, despite her horrid fears.
Sitting up, beside him, she looked out the window with her hand absentmindedly pressed to her stomach. She was so slender that she could already feel the slightest of bumps, though it was hardly noticeable. Their lives were changing and she knew she was going to have to go into the fray head on. i'm ready to suffer and i'm ready to hope

Tyler watched Mercy sit up, and he almost felt the need to help her. She was no near far along in her pregnancy but he couldn't help but feel she was even more fragile now with the child growing within her. Her flush after speaking of marriage made Tyler arch a brow slightly. Why was she so shy about it? He felt like he was doing everything wrong as a man in her life. He had seeded her a child before they were married, and now she is the first to even bring up the idea. He could kick himself right now, over and over. "Don't you think for a minute I would say anything otherwise." Tyler said to her, his green eyes bouncing from her face as she looked out the window, then down to her hand on her stomach. He swallowed heavily, then let his eyes slide toward the door. He knew this was no going to be pretty, but it had to be done. He had to do something for himself, something for her. Something to prove her that he would try to fix the mess they made because of his actions. He wooed her. He felt responsible.
He threw his legs over the side of the bed and stood, watching the door before he turned and walked toward her, slipping his hand over her's before pushing his lips against her's. Pressing his forehead into her's, he spoke with a softer tone. "I will get your brother's blessing right now in place of your father's, along with telling him about the child. If he wishes to give me a hard time..." He stopped and a soft smile played across his face. "Well I always seem to figure out an alternative now don't I?" He said before giving her another lingering kiss. After pulling away, he gave her one last look before calling in a maid. "Tend to her. She is feeling ill and needs a warm bath." The maid jumped right into action, and Tyler turned to smirk at Mercy before slipping from the room...
Tyler had soon learned Valterra's ground pretty well. He had only known where John would most likely be.. because well that's where the rightful King spent most of his time. While Queen Sophia was the ruler of Valterra, she hardly used her round room, where most King and Queen's would be planning military based decisions, Sophia still remained quiet about the fight over Faylinn, so she granted the room to King John while he stepped up his plans and rallied his men from across the lands. The longer Tyler walked, the more worried he became. The bandit tried to show at least some sort of calm while in the room with Mercy, but now with the thought of his life on the line, things started to get rocky.
His bright green eyes froze to the two doors that led into the room where he could already hear murmurs from men. They would very quickly realize something was up, knowing the outlaw had walked into the room.. He had no business being there. At the same time, Tyler didn't give a shit what anyone else thought about him, so he drew in a calming breath and pushed open the doors. A group of men were huddled around a round table, looking over heaps of papers, but they all looked up when someone opened the doors. Among those men was John, and he looked as equally confused as the rest of the men. Tyler swallowed hard, but looked the King right in the face and said clearly, "Sorry for interrupting, but I believe we need to talk.... " He looked around at the men watching him silently. "And I request we speak about this matter alone." He said in a daring tone, not knowing if it were wise to be by himself with this man when he released the news.
