THE APPEARANCE
Standing six foot eight and a half inches tall, Ambrose is rather muscular and firmly built man. He has deep brown eyes which are usually filled with a blink of humor. He keeps his brown hair quite short and seems to think that long hair would only be in his way. Ambrose has a short beard too, keeping it nice and simple. As a king he is required to wear court robes but when he's off-duty he prefers to wear clothes that makes him feel comfortable. He is not unfamiliar with armor either – he has fought a lot of battles but does still prefer peace.
THE PERSONALITY
The King of Van'Ostgar is very pleasant man with good manners. He is a very caring father and strategic leader who trusts his head over his heart. Ambrose is much known not to make any prompt decisions. He is also somewhat diplomatic and indispensable ally to anyone. Ambrose tends to be friendly towards anyone no matter what their class might be but still prefers the upper class over the lower. There is still a clear line between them and him though he does not fear to shake their hands or visit their homes. Cautiousness is one of his greatest treats and he trusts no one but himself and his family. He is a bit of a humorous guy with witty answers and has a past as a ladiesman but has since settled down. He is very strict parent and does not fear to set boundaries to his children.
Whereas Ambrose is a loving father to his children and his wife, he is also a brave and ferocious warrior. He keeps his power hidden but especially his siren song would be the doom of many. With the help of his power, he could lure a group of warriors into peril. He prefers to fight with his sword and shield or if possible, he prefers fighting with words over fighting physically. Peace is always his number one option. To apologize is always better than to lose many lives. He is quite fair but sometimes unfortunately a bit hot-headed and unforgiving. Betrayal is something he does not take lightly – do it once and you won't see the sunlight ever again.
THE HISTORY
BIRTH REALM: Mourinor
BIRTH KINGDOM: Van'Ostgar
Ambrose Elijah Picard was the first born child to the King Margrave and Queen Lavinia of Van'Ostgar. He was followed by two sisters and one brother a few years later. He pretty much lived his life inside the castle walls training to be the next king. A lot of pressure was put on him ever since his childhood and perfection was not expected – it was required. He found a way to get out of it from time to time – he figured out that if he whistled in a certain way, he could get people to do what he wanted to. That was a little before his fifth birthday – of course he did not know what it fully meant.
When he was seven, he was sent to train a few hours a day with his father's knights. He learned close combat skills as well as swordsmanship, using a bow and daggers. In a few years he could carry more heavier shields and swords and fight with a full armor on. He trained everyday – but what his parents didn't know was that he trained his special skill too. He was indeed a bit afraid what would happen if anyone ever found out about it.
When Ambrose was eleven, it was revealed that her father had also a secret power – he could bend earth to his own will. Hs mother though, had none, but was aware of Margrave's gift. Ambrose wasn't so scared of it anymore but listened to his father's wishes and kept it hidden, practising it only in safe grounds. He grew up to be somewhat a ladiesman – handsome, very humorous and he always had that special blink in his eyes when girls were around. This was unfortunately a quality his parents did not overlook. At the age of seventeen he was betrothed to a certain Danielle Millegan, a nobleman's daughter, year younger than he.
Ambrose had always thought that he would marry someone he truly loved and that he would actually marry at a late age. His training was still ongoing when his father, King Margrave, went to a battle and never returned. Ambrose was forced to take the throne of Van'Ostgar when he was only eighteen and not yet completed his training. He was soon appointed with advisors and with his mother's help he was soon on his feet. Before he took his father's crown, he married Danielle, whom he had grown to love only in a year.
Two years later from his marriage, his first child was born – a son they named Oscar. Three years later a daughter followed – this one was named Portia. The two children would've been enough for Ambrose as he always had wanted both son and a daughter, but five years after Portia another girl was born. The youngest daughter got name Felicia. The family couldn't be more happier. Until the happy days ended in a tragedy.
When their youngest daughter was two years old, Danielle fell ill. Soon she started coughing up blood and the healers could not help her. She passed away and left Ambrose heartbroken with three children. Two of the eldest children helped him in any way they could – he had to continue his work as a king, often indulging into fights with enemies and going into wars himself to drown his sorrows into fighting. He always came home and was quite victorious in his journeys.
But more trouble was to come. Apparently Ambrose had killed a son of a wicked arcanist who swore revenge upon him. The youngest daughter, Felicia, was always the adventurous one, leaving off with her friend to play outside the city walls even though she was forbidden to do so. Felicia had just turned five when she had ran off and encountered the arcanist who had the power of creating poison gas. His intentions was to kill her but luckily she had been saved. Or well, almost...
Felicia lost her sight that day due to the poison gas. She was ill for a long time and Ambrose was quite helpless. He turned to a village healer, Madeliene, who nursed Felicia back to health. Her full healing took a lot of time and Ambrose hired Madeliene as her personal nurse to the castle. He was ever so thankful that this woman had nursed her child back to health and stayed by her side that he could not deny anything she wanted. Eventually, noticing how close Madeliene and Felicia had become, he fell in love with her. A year later they were married, even though she was a mere peasant. It was later discovered that Felicia was not completely blind – she had the gift of blindsight. This calmed Ambrose down a little bit – he had the arcanist hunted down and killed for hurting his daughter but was not willing to let anything to happen to her ever again. He required that everyone in his family should be guarded when they leave the castle grounds – trusting no one but themselves.
