THE APPEARANCE
Standing at six feet exactly, Kasimir is a decently tall man who looks over most others. His hair is a medium shade of brown, leaning towards the darker end of the spectrum. Rarely does he not go clean-shaven, as he dislikes the look facial hair gives him. His eyes are a dark brown, almost the exact same color as his hair. For clothing, Kasimir usually wears clothing that is comfortable and, while finely made, does not show obvious signs of wealth. When dealing with nobility, and other such members of the upper class, he wears richer clothes, if only because protocol demands he do so. Regardless of the situation, he is most likely to be found in plate armor of rather elegant make, which is nearly flawless in appearance. He polishes this armor regularly, in order to go with his reputation as 'a knight in shining armor.
THE PERSONALITY
Kasimir von Drachenburg is, at first glance, your typical knight. His heart is filled with compassion for those weaker than him, who he strives to protect from any and all harm that could come to them. He respects his betters, whether they be the ruling family of Everfell or the gods themselves. He holds dearly his honor, unwilling to engage in underhanded tactics to come out on top, forgoing such things as ranged weapons, stealth, and the like. He is highly trained in honorable combat, whether it be with a sword, a mace, or a lance. In essence, he is the perfect knight; a man skilled in the art of fighting who lives his life by a code of honor.
On a personal level, Kasimir is pretty much selfless. His entire life, he grew up listening to stories of how a knight, facing immediate death, continued on regardless, for there were innocents to protect. He strives to uphold this image of knighthood that he has in his head, and translates it to every aspect of his life. Unlike others, however, he has no desire to use this as a way to gather fame. A knight such as him could easily acquire the support of those around him through his acts, and then use that support for a goal. For Kasimir, this idea is nonsense. A knight's foremost goal should be to protect the lives of others, and ask for nothing in return.
THE HISTORY
BIRTH REALM: Faeryn
BIRTH KINGDOM: Everfell
Born in Cassardis, a minor fishing village on the Everfellian coast, Kasimir was the firstborn son of the ruling lord of the village. Though nobility, Kasimir spent the majority of his early childhood playing with the peasant children of the village, something which surprisingly enough, his father encouraged. Though such an act would usually be frowned upon by many in the upper class, Kasimir's father wished to see his son develop a liking for those people who he was technically higher than, for compassion was, in his eyes, essential to succeed at ruling. As Kasimir was his firstborn, he would eventually be the one doing the ruling.
Ruling, however, was the last thing on Kasimir's mind.
His father, though a lord, had once ventured across the land as a knight-errant, righting wrongs and fighting to protect the citizens of Everfell from anything that might threaten their safety. As a result, Kasimir would often be told story after story of his adventures, stories which Kasimir would listen to in awe. To the young boy, these tales of honor and glory were some of the most exciting things imaginable. It wasn't long before he was asking his father to please, please teach him to do the things he had heard about in the stories. His father was, obviously, quite excited to see his son take an interest in the life of his past. He set about teaching Kasimir to use a sword, how to ride a horse... basic things that any knight would need to know. For Kasimir, however, these lessons were not enough. He wanted to be a knight.
In truth, Kasimir's father would have inducted his son as a page the moment he had expressed interest in knighthood. However, he faced opposition in the form of his position. As the lord of Cassardis, he could not leave the city long enough to actually take his son with him to adventure. It wasn't until his brother-in-law, a knight of the King of Everfell, offered to assist, that Kasimir's father finally figured out how to get around this. When Kasimir was told he could train as a page under his uncle, the boy was overjoyed.
Over the course of the next several years, Kasimir served his uncle first as a page, and then eventually a squire. During this time, Kasimir's uncle taught him everything there was to know about being a knight, from how to fight and defeat opponents whether in single combat or at war, to how to maneuver the labyrinth that was the politics of the court. By the time Kasimir was eighteen, it was readily apparent by all that it was just a matter of time before he finally earned his knighthood. The minute he turned nineteen, his uncle proclaimed his training complete, and named him a knight in his own right. Following his completion of training, Kasimir's father gifted him with the suit of plate armor he had worn during his questing days, as well as the family sword. Armored in a suit of his own armor, and wielding his family's blade, Kasimir set out on his own for the first time, in order to make a name for himself.
