THE APPEARANCE
Eleanor is quite tall and lean with a graceful figure. She is five foot and six inches, having somewhat harmonious body shape. She is quite lightly build but do not let it fool you – Eleanor is stronger than she seems, mostly because of her relentless nature. She has long, lightly curled dark brown hair, which falls right down to her waist. Her big grayish blue eyes are framed by long, dark eyelashes. She is an upper class lady which also brings her the certain kind of dresses that she should wear in formal occasions. But in her free time, she likes to dress up quite like a peasant girl – she like's comfortable, simple clothes and is quite fond of light colors, such as light brown, light blue and light green.
THE PERSONALITY
Strong-willed and relentless nature is the dominating part of Eleanor. She has this irritating habit of not giving up until proven wrong. The same goes when she has decided something – she does it no matter what people might say. She knows where she stands and is quite proud but not really obnoxious. She tends to follow her heart more than to listen what her mind is telling her. She's not exactly the one to wander off to make a point but can find many other ways to make people see in her point of view neither is she really a daredevil, though she's quite fiery and a handful to anyone. She's quite witty and often tries to be a hard-ass (or the strong one) in ominous situations.
But that is not all she is. Eleanor has put up this shell of hers to survive in the world ruled mostly by men and their desires. She has never been fond of betrothal or marrying someone just because it's logical. Eleanor is kind and considerate, eager to help anyone who needs it. She is a good shoulder to cry on – she understands life, love and loss, pretty much everything and even if she doesn't, she'll try to understand. She just doesn't show this loving side of her to everyone. It takes time for her to grow trust someone. Eleanor is smart and doesn't haste. But she does anger easily. No worries though, she's also the one to cool off quite fast. She doesn't really like to hold grudges on people excluding of course if someone simply does something unforgivable.
THE HISTORY
BIRTH REALM: Faeryn
BIRTH KINGDOM: Errigal
Eleanor was the first-born in the Branson family, though they wished for a son. She was welcomed all in all and her parents grew up to love her. She inherited most of her nature from her mother, who was pretty much commanfing her husband to do this and that. Eleanor grew up in Errigal, with her parents and her full-time nanny. She was raised to be a lady who would later marry a lord and live in the Branson palace with his husband and children. Eleanor was not quite fondof that idea though – she rather preferred spending her afternoons reading books or playing with her friends. A lost cause, as her father once stated. But Eleanor just wanted something more. Or dreamed about it. But she wasn't betrothed at a young age, mostly thanks to her mother who first wanted to see if Eleanor would be able to find herself a suitable husband by herself when she would grow up.
She was quite her mother's daughter. Laurinda Branson wasn't exactly the most common example of a lady, sometimes doing even things that belonged to the maids. But she did it just to help them. Eleanor always admired her mother of her kindness but also of her authority over her father. Her life was going on quite smoothly and her mother told her that she was going to be a big sister. But nothing good lasts forever. Laurinda had bad complications at childbirth, being also very ill when she gave birth. She was unfortunate to die at it when Eleanor was only seven years old. It did take a couple of years to get over it. Her father was perhaps even more devastated, since he also lost his sole male heir. It does sound cruel, but Peter had always wanted a son to continue being the lord of Branson palace instead of her daughter marrying one.
Eleanor grew up to be quite a strong person, who wasn't afraid to say what she thought. Her father tried to keep her safe as well as he could and tried to set her some limits. Of course it didn't work so well when her mother was the one pulling the strings before her death and Eleanor had learned from her how to control her father. Needless to say but Peter never really appreciated it and at some point he let Eleanor do what she wanted to an extent.
As she grew up, Eleanor became more independent and threw cold water on her father's idea of her marrying a lord. She wanted to follow her heart. When she was fifteen, she met Garrett Wyndham, a charming young man from the lower class. He was a gentleman, even though his status was not high. He did not complain about a thing. Eleanor felt fascinated by him and befriended him. Eventually this all led into a love her father would not accept. Peter set up many meetings with possible groom candidates, but none of them qualified in Eleanor's eyes. Peter was quite the traditional leader and did not want a peasant to take his place but would rather kill him. One day Garrett was gone and only a short message was left behind ”You deserve much better. I'm sorry”. Eleanor was heartbroken and couldn't see how her beloved would turn on her this way. Little did she know that Lord Branson threatened him and his family and even Eleanor.
Due to the lost of her love, Eleanor grew even more resistant to marry a nobleman. She loved her father blindly but she would follow her heart rather than marry someone because of their status. Lord Branson was quite tired of his daughter's attitude and reluctance to follow orders had no other option than to sell her to Queen Valerie. He made a deal that he would be appointed a newborn son soon enough once Eleanor would be delivered to her. And Eleanor still doesn't have a clue about the deal.
