THE APPEARANCE
Thought not especially tall or bulky, Raeven is quick and lithe and stands out amongst his peers through skill and sheer martial prowess. An expert survivalist, the huntsman knows the forests like the back of his hand and can survive in them for weeks without meeting civilization. Elongated ears part the mess of golden hair that tends to fall to his shoulders. His eyes are green as the forest and one can get lost in them with ease. Bred for the hunt, Raeven's skin is covered in Elven runes, said to bring luck, and each is more elaborate than the other. He usually prefers to move barefoot and tends to wear simple clothing.
THE PERSONALITY
Regarded as studious and patient, Raeven boasts as good a set of brains as any elf in the realm. Raeven is, however, as equally brash as he is youthful. He is no diplomat and tends to say what he thinks. Though he is quite becoming in nature and somewhat of an honest flatterer, Raeven's tactless tongue will easily get him into trouble with his peers at times. The hunter is noble, honorable and people can except of him no less and no more than to do what is right. Like many elves, Raeven worships nature and hates those that defile it in any way. He often admits to caring little for the humans of both Mourinor and Faeryn alike, but he has a 'soft spot' for the dwarves of Forval. To Raeven, as per typical Elven standard, the world ends at Andrasti's borders and he is loath to deal with those who would bring trouble to the Elven kingdom.
THE HISTORY
BIRTH REALM: Mourinor
BIRTH KINGDOM: Andrasti
Born and raised the son of a carpenter and shipwright in one of Andrasti's many coastal communities. There was never much poverty, his father worked hard and provided his family with ample food supplies. Raeven often joined his father on the job, watching the man at work and carrying his father's tool around. Yet never did he feel an inclination to follow in his footsteps. Taught to read and write by his mother, Raeven was often privy to his grandfather's, a councilor, library and spent hours of every day reading books on nature. Much of his childhood was spent following his brothers around as they went about their business. Maerdir was the oldest and, very much unlike their father, worked as a scribe. Thandir was a hunter and an extremely skillful one at that. Neighbors often commented on the boy's symbiosis and skill with the bow and arrow.
Eventually Raeven too started venturing out, doing so often and for great lengths of time. He taught himself to track and hunt, like his older brother had done before him, but he also developed reasonable skills with short blades and hand to hand combat. Though strength never became his forte, sheer knowledge of the techniques favored by elven warriors brought him up to par with animal and elf alike. He took pride in this but, having been cautioned by his brother that pride was a dangerous thing to have when venturing into the deep forest of the realm, never too much. By the time of his trial, Raeven was prepared to kill the much esteemed bear; his childhood goal. He hunted the monstrosity for days and eventually managed to chase it down to its den, finding it with cubs. By virtue of his conscience he refused and returned home, prepared to deal with the fallout of such an act.
But the forests were most rewarding of his act, at least so did he believe. On his way home he passed by a bear, dead for no longer than a few hours. Making it look like he had fired the shot that killed the animal, Raeven took it back and passed the test. A closely guarded secret no soul is privy to, something he'd rather keep as such. Though smart and capable, Raeven lacks any sufficient ambition and even since the test, he has spend his time laboring as little more than a simple hunter.
