THE APPEARANCE
Standing at about six feet two inches, Jericho is a decently tall man. He wears his hair rather short, more of a practical decision rather than one of fashion. His eyes are almost the exact shade of brown as his hair, both of which lean toward the darker end of the spectrum. His body has been covered in scars, the product of a lifetime of combat. Of note are the Maltese crosses tattooed on several places on his body, one on the left side of his chest, one on the back of his neck, and one on the back of his left hand. Around his neck he wears a necklace, from which several wolf teeth hang. Usually, he is found in armor. He wears two different kinds, one, plate armor, the other, leather. His leather armor is black, and pretty much typical of its type, however, his plate armor is rather interesting. The armor is classic plate armor that has had extensive modifications done over the years. On his chest plate, over his heart, five claw marks have been carved into the metal. The shoulder guard of his armor has the top of a wolf skull strapped to it. He keeps his Zweihänder strapped to his back, and his longsword in a scabbard on his left hip.
THE PERSONALITY
Jericho is a career soldier, and takes his job seriously. When he takes a contract, he finishes it to the letter, and leaves no room for error. He is efficient, accomplishing every objective given to him without complaint. He is a professional, and it shows. However, on a personal level, he is a cheerful and care free man. He enjoys his off time as much as the next man, and has a tendency to spend it doing any of his hobbies. He also enjoys the game of romance. However, unlike many men, Jericho finds the wooing itself to be just as enjoyable, if not more, than actually winning the woman's affections. Also, Jericho is not above showcasing his rather impressive skills in order to impress, others. In fact, that’s 50% of his persona, anyways. In order to draw fame to the Wolf, the Wolf must impress the masses.
THE HISTORY
BIRTH REALM: Tharkinoth
BIRTH KINGDOM: The Fenrisian Empire
Jericho was born in the city of Stormhold, in the Fenrisian Empire, a nation from across the ocean. His childhood was relatively normal, with one important distinction: His father was a Knight of Fenris, a huge honor. He looked up to his father as a child, hoping to one day become one of the famous knights himself. Growing up, his father instructed him in the use of the sword, and taught him the Oath of Fenris, the code that all Knights of Fenris live by. By the time he was in his late teens, his father had managed to train him enough to the point where Jericho was fully capable of besting trained soldiers in duels, even besting a few of the Knights themselves. When he was fifteen, Fenris declared war on a neighboring nation, and drafted much of the male population to fight. As Jericho was of age, he was drafted into the military. For the next six years, Jericho fought on the front lines, many times alongside his father or other Knights of Fenris, in many different battles. He participated in the final battle of the war, which took place his twenty first birthday in the capital of the enemy nation. It was then that he truly made a name for himself, singlehandedly storming a line of enemy soldiers and cutting a swathe through them after his father was killed in combat. As a result of his heroism, he was offered knighthood. This battle was also the source of his nickname, the Wolf, as his comrades were said to say, "He was like a wolf, snarling in the face of the enemy, claws out, teeth bared."
Unfortunately for the Knights of Fenris, Jericho declined their offer. During his years at war, Jericho found his calling. As a Knight of Fenris, he would have been forced into a more ceremonial role, only fighting during times of great war. This was not good enough to him. He needed conflict, he needed battle. And with the military now reduced to garrison duty and the Knights no longer at war, Jericho turned to the job that would give him what he wanted. He became a mercenary. Using his nickname "The Wolf" as a starter, he began to upgrade his kit to appear more wolf-like, with the intention of building a persona that would allow him to command fear and respect within his field, something to set him apart from the average sword-for-hire.
Over time, Jericho managed to secure himself a reputation as a skilled warrior across his part of the world. Nations across the lands sent him offer after offer, waging a bidding war to secure his services. Untold numbers of mercenary groups and knightly orders sent representatives in an attempt to recruit him into their number, in order to give themselves much needed credibility. Jericho was, quite simply, the best at what he did, and everyone knew it. And they feared him. In one notable example of his reputation, an entire garrison of mercenaries under contract with a kingdom surrendered to an enemy kingdom, simply because Jericho was rumored to be commanding the enemy forces sent against them.
Eventually, however, war began to die down. The Fenrisian Empire and several other nations formed an alliance, essentially ending conflict in the area. Jericho began to find himself running out of work. Though there were plenty of contracts he could have taken, they were simple things that paid horrendously. In order to sustain his career, Jericho needed something much more… chaotic. Finding himself a ship captain willing to ferry him anywhere for a price, Jericho sailed across the ocean in search of somewhere to sell his services. Landing in the Kingdom of Faylinn, Jericho began inquiring throughout the kingdoms if they were in need of fighters. At first, it seemed that his services would not be needed here, either, and his search would have to continue. However, during his stay in Faylinn, Jericho found himself approached by agents of the Queen with an offer. Accepting it, Jericho know finds himself searching far and wide for several wanted outlaws. With an outrageous reward waiting for him should he succeed, Jericho is eager to find his quarry and return it to the Queen. However… he might soon find out this contract isn’t exactly what he thinks….
